Dragon Keeper's Secret Workshop

Explore ancient textures, dragon sculpting and the magic of creating a book that feels unearthed from another world.

£120.00

Some creations feel ancient the moment you touch them — as though they’ve been waiting to be found. In this mystical two‑day workshop, you’ll transform a simple sketchbook into a magical artefact: a lockable, clay‑covered treasure guarded by a dragon who lives on the cover and protects the key. With textured stonework, runes, scales, metallic accents and hidden details, your book will feel like a relic unearthed from a forgotten world. There’s a quiet sense of adventure woven through the process — the feeling of crafting something that belongs to a story.

Participants begin with a blank sketchbook. You’ll learn how to build ancient textures in polymer clay, embed gems or symbols, create layered organic forms, and sculpt your own dragon guardian. On Day One, you’ll also attach the clay strap; I’ll sew the buckle securely for you afterwards, ready for Day Two’s finishing touches. By the end, your book will close with a heart‑shaped lock, and the key will have its own tiny sculpted charm — a secret companion to the dragon who keeps watch.

This workshop is gently advanced but fully beginner‑friendly. We move slowly, with time for curing, painting, metallic finishes and story‑rich details. Whether your book becomes a journal, a spell book, a dream diary or a place for sketches, it will feel like something precious — something that holds magic.

Skills you'll learn:

• Sculpting a dragon character with personality and presence

• Creating ancient stone, scale and organic textures in polymer clay

• Embedding gems, runes, symbols and metallic accents

• Building layered, sculptural forms on a book cover

• Attaching a clay strap and working with a lockable closure

• Painting, shading and finishing techniques for depth and age

• Adding story‑rich details that make the piece feel like a relic
