Forest Dragon Workshop
Sculpt a tiny forest dragon using layered textures, pigments and enchanting woodland details
£80.00
Explore polymer clay in a deeper, more expressive way. In this calming, creative workshop, you’ll sculpt a small Forest Dragon — complete with leafy scales, soft moss textures and a tiny gemstone crown.
Polymer clay is a wonderfully soft, colourful material that bakes hard in a standard home oven — no kiln or specialist equipment needed. It’s flexible, forgiving, and surprisingly easy to work with, making it perfect for beginners who are ready to explore something a little more detailed and three‑dimensional.
With gentle guidance, you’ll sculpt your dragon from scratch, learning how to build a stable 3D form, shape expressive features, and add natural textures inspired by woodland leaves, bark and moss. Your dragon will be completely unique — a sleepy forest creature shaped by your imagination, your hands, and the colours you love.
We’ll move at a relaxed pace, with natural pauses for tea, conversation and creative reflection while your work cures. No previous experience is needed — just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to explore a few new sculpting techniques.
During this workshop you’ll explore a range of simple but beautifully effective techniques — including some more advanced sculpting methods that bring depth, character and enchantment to your finished piece:
• Conditioning clay — softening and preparing it so it’s easy to sculpt
• Sculpting 3D forms — shaping your dragon’s body, head, tail and features
• Building a stable structure — forming a strong, three‑dimensional base to work from
• Adding texture — creating leafy scales, bark patterns and soft moss effects
• Incorporating embellishments — embedding a tiny gemstone for a magical finishing touch
• Applying pigment — brushing on mica powders or pastels before curing, and painting afterwards
• Curing (baking) — hardening your sculpture safely and effectively
• Finishing and refining — antiquing the surface with acrylic paint for a rich, enchanted feel
Your completed Forest Dragon can become a captivating decorative piece for your home, a unique gift, or a cherished addition to your collection of handmade art.
Everything you need is provided, including decorative stones and embellishments. Please note: clay colours may vary slightly on the day.
