Step into a gentle world of texture and tiny details. In this calming, hands‑on workshop, you’ll create your own collection of Textured Treasures — small clay pieces inspired by leaves, petals, patterns and the quiet beauty found in nature.
Polymer clay is a wonderfully soft, colourful material that bakes hard in a standard home oven — no kiln or specialist equipment needed. It’s flexible, forgiving, and surprisingly easy to work with, making it perfect for beginners.
With gentle guidance, you’ll explore simple techniques for conditioning clay, rolling slabs, cutting shapes, adding texture, stamping patterns, and brushing on shimmering mica to bring your designs to life. You’ll make between one and three pieces, and can choose to finish them as pendants, keyrings, magnets, hanging decorations or keepsakes.
We’ll move at a relaxed pace, with natural pauses for tea, conversation and creative reflection while your pieces cure. No experience needed — just curiosity, a love of nature, and a willingness to explore texture with your hands.
Everything you need is provided. Come and create a handful of tiny treasures to wear, gift, or keep close.
During this workshop you’ll explore a range of simple, beginner‑friendly techniques, including:
• Conditioning clay — softening and preparing it so it’s easy to shape
• Slab rolling — creating smooth, even sheets to work from
• Cutting and shaping — forming clean, precise shapes for your designs
• Joining pieces — attaching elements securely and neatly
• Adding texture — using tools, leaves and natural objects to create beautiful patterns
• Stamping and stenciling — adding detail and personality to your pieces
• Applying mica powders — brushing on shimmering colour and highlights
• Curing (baking) — hardening your work safely and effectively
• Sanding and finishing — giving your pieces a smooth, polished, professional feel
