"Shining a little light, through art, care & clay"

Little Light Art
Little Light Art is part of my wider Sculpt Happy Studio practice — the strand where I bring creativity into community settings with a focus on wellbeing, connection, and gentle support.
This is a space where creativity, the act of making, and a sense of shared humanity meet. I design and deliver gentle, accessible clay workshops that help people slow down, reconnect, and make something meaningful with their hands.
Community Creativity | Nature Connection | Gentle Wellbeing

Because everyone deserves a space to feel grounded, calm, and capable.
Community workshops for wellbeing, confidence, and connection
Nature‑inspired creative projects with local partners
Inclusive sessions for all ages and abilities
Collaborations with schools, charities, and community groups
What I Offer

Current Community Project
Clay & Connect is a gentle, community‑rooted clay project delivered at Waffle House in Axminster — a warm, inclusive space dedicated to connection and wellbeing. The project is funded by the Uplyme Community Fund, whose support has made it possible for local people to access creative sessions that nurture confidence, calm, and community.
Clay & Connect brings people together through simple, grounding clay techniques, shared conversation, and the joy of making something meaningful with their hands. It’s a space where creativity becomes a tool for connection, reflection, and gentle wellbeing.

Finding Our Wings
Future Community Project
Finding Our Wings is an emerging community clay and conservation project inspired by the birdlife of Seaton Wetlands. The project is currently in development and will move forward subject to funding being secured.
The vision is to highlight a selection of Wetlands birds — potentially those lesser‑known, vulnerable, or in need of greater public awareness. Working with community groups such as the socially prescribed participants at Waffle (who I previously supported through the Clay & Connect project), individuals will create low‑relief clay artworks depicting these birds in their habitats.
Each piece will include gentle, poetic messages of conservation and care, helping people connect with the stories and challenges of the species we focus on. I will design, structure, and guide the workshops, create templates and drawings based on Archie’s bird photography from the wetlands, and compose the final artworks into cohesive pieces.
The finished clay scenes will be mounted on wood donated by Axminster Tools, echoing the natural environment and giving each artwork a sense of place. The intention is for these pieces to be installed in semi‑sheltered permanent positions around Seaton Wetlands, creating a small trail of community‑made works that celebrate local wildlife and encourage gentle learning.
If funding allows, we also hope to include a small photography display featuring Archie’s images of the birds we highlight — a celebration of both the wildlife and the young photographer capturing it.

Funding & Sustainability
Little Light Art projects are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and deeply supportive — and they take time, materials, and careful preparation to deliver well. To keep these sessions sustainable and to ensure that everyone involved receives the experience they deserve, projects are delivered subject to funding being available.
I’m always happy to explore ideas with organisations, schools, and community groups, and to help shape a project that fits your needs. While I often contribute additional unpaid hours to make a project the best it can be, core costs such as materials, preparation, delivery, and coordination do need to be funded.
If you’re interested in bringing a Little Light Art project to your community, I can guide you through funding options or work with you to develop a proposal.
If you’d like to bring Little Light Art to your school, community group, or organisation, I’d love to talk.
